  Disputable Matters

Sin is clearly defined in the Bible. 1. THE EXTREMES -- (ROMANS 14:1-8) (8/1/2010) -- There are 2 extremes to these disputable matters. In this corner you have the legalists. They have the list. When a situation arises, they just consult the list. These people love law, judgment, and the Old Testament. In the other corner you have the libertarians. They do not have a list nor do they even know one exists. They would rather ask for forgiveness than permission. These people love freedom, grace, and the New Testament.

2. SIX QUESTIONS -- (ROMANS 14:9-23) (8/8/2010) -- When it comes to these disputable matters, we may find that every situation calls for a different answer. Here are six questions you need to ask yourself when confronted with a disputable matter. How you answer these questions will lead you to the correct decision.

3. COMMANDED OR PROHIBITED -- (ROMANS 14:1-8) (8/15/2010) -- Are you certain that the issue at hand falls into the category of "disputable?" Perhaps it is commanded or prohibited elsewhere in the Bible. Have you checked? Don't be too quick to judge others until you know this for sure.
