 There are theological differences and beliefs among believers. But there is one issue that has the potential to cause some very bad feelings among believers or stimulate the greatest comfort and inward peace to the individual believer. 1. THE STRUGGLE -- (ACTS 13:42-52) (5/10/2009) -- This doctrine is surrounded with much controversy, arguments, church splits, pastor removals, and hatred. It seems that you either love this doctrine or you don't. You believe it or you don't. There's no middle ground. There will be a struggle.
2. THE DEADNESS -- (JOHN 11:17-26) (5/17/2009) -- Physically dead men cannot hear, think, or respond. Physically dead men can do nothing. Likewise spiritually dead men cannot hear, think, or respond. Spiritually dead men can do nothing.
3. THE SOVEREIGNTY -- (JOB 40:1-14) (5/24/2009) -- God can be just, merciful, or gracious whenever He wants to be because He is sovereign. God's sovereignty means He can do what He wants, whenever He wants, to whomever He wants for His own good pleasure.
4. THE PRAISE -- (ROMANS 8:28-30) (5/31/2009) -- Again we see the ultimate human response to Divine Election is to give God the praise He deserves.
5. THE GIFT -- (ROMANS 9:14-16) (6/7/2009) -- The Father not only gave us a gift, we ARE the gift that God is giving to His Son! And He will pick out the gift He wants for His Son. Now how do you feel about being elected?
