I was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I migrated
to Waynesboro, Virginia in 1973 when I landed a technician job with the General Electric Company at the age of
19. I continued to work with GE/Genicom for 29 years till the Lord called me
into full time ministry in 2002.
 I wasn't saved in a church. I was saved at work at a lunch Bible study. I was 40 years old. I was led to the
Lord through the witnessing of a coworker. That's when my life changed. I then began
reading and studying my Bible with a relentless passion to know the truth.
My learning and theology comes mostly from the teachings of John MacArthur and
his GRACE TO YOU ministries, R.C. Sproul and his LIGONIER MINISTRIES,
and John Piper and his DESIRING GOD ministries. I find their teaching of Reformed Theology the only
possible way every passage of the Bible can be truthfully explained. Thus, I have
borrowed the title "The Truth Matters" from John MacArthur as the foundation
for my ministry at Beech Grove Church.
My wife Gail and I have been married since 1976. We have 2 children. Our son Corey
and his wife Charlotte live in Cincinnati, Ohio. Corey is an adjunct professor at
Cincinnati Christian University. Our daughter Carrie and her husband Kevin live in Lynchburg, Virginia.
I am a bivocational pastor. I also work 40 hrs/wk at McClung Companies in Waynesboro, VA, in their
Fulfillment Department. I am a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan. I
love old cars, especially those from the 50s and 60s. I'm not a bad bowler either!
My ministry at Beech Grove Christian Church would not be possible without the
influence of some good people on my journey. My wife Gail - for asking me to go to church when I was not a
church-going man. Jim Driscoll - for sharing the gospel with me at a Bible study.
He was there when my eyes were opened to the truth. John
MacArthur - without his tapes and CDs I would be Biblically incompetent. My Congregation
at BGCC - they love me and I love them.
I strive to do one thing - to bring the truth of God's Word to my people each
and every Sunday. Because the truth matters.

 A SOUL WASHING
A tattoo is a permanent mark or design made on the body. They are impossible to wash away. Every person on the face of this earth has another kind of tattoo—a spiritual tattoo. The Bible calls them sins. They carry with them a death sentence. But they can be washed as white as snow with the right treatment.
